My BEST story begins in Eindhoven, where I was accepted to my first Summer Course. I had no idea what was I getting myself into :)
Two weeks of laughter, riding bikes in the rain, getting up when you just got to sleep, .... awesome. The saying "work hard, party harder" is really something we do in BEST. I have learned so much, grew as a person and I met so many new people, with which I always have a great time.

It took me a while to get me convinced to go on a course, two years to be exact... then I went to a course in Ankara. The academical part was ok, it was about red and white wines ;) Turkey is a beautiful country and the Turkish are much nicer then you would expect. I met a lot of friends and am still in touch with most of them, some even came here to visit me. Next time I'll visit them somewhere in Europe! My only regret is not going sooner...

Many friends were convincing me to join one of the BEST summer courses around Europe and it took quite some time that I accepted the challenge. After experienced it by myself, I understand what my friends were talking about. Parties, sightseeing, interesting lectures, new open minded friends and not just that - the most important ingredient was the BEST spirit, that cannot be described with words. I've become addicted to it :)

I first come in contact with BEST through posters on my faculty. Than I went to BEST web site and check available courses. I found one vith very interesting thema for me. I applied and was chosen to go on my first summer course. The academical part was very good, parties even better. From that time, I went on around 5 other events with BEST and besties and always spend great time!

After my first course away and organizing two courses here, I found it was time for me to go on another course. This time I went for a Engineering Competition in Rome. It was my first time there. Rome is a very impressive city, with all its ancient buildings. This time around, I knew what to expect, and I wasn't disappointed. The competition was new for me, but it was so much fun! Our team actually won! I can still go on one more course... maybe this summer...?

It took a long time to convince me to go on a BEST course in Patras, Greece. Now looking back at the many events I have been to last years I am more then happy that I got to know BEST. Last February I travelled to Russia to catch up with friends and to go on an other BEST course! Each event keeps you surprising and leaves good memories and friends all over Europe! Next to travelling I became active in BEST Eindhoven to organise the same events but then for external students! Together with a group of BESTies from Eindhoven we have organised a great course and showed students the Dutch way of life. Even after several years BEST wont get me bored! Its the BEST time of my life.

On the train to my first summer course I was thinking about what's ahead, but even in my wildest dreams could I not foresee what was about to happened. In the 14 days I spent in Torino I meet new people from all around Europe, learned a lot, partied even more and above all I got infected with the BEST spirit. The spirit of laughter, fun, fruiends and can do attitude. Almost 3 years have passed since the first infection and in the mean time I have met much more people, learned even more and had many many parties. On top of that I've traveled around Europe, experienced different things and made life long friends and memories. If you want more out of your student life, BEST is the answer.

Organizing a summer course is something else. It takes a year of preperation but the end result is great! Our last course was about micro and nano technology. We invited 25 wonderfull participants from all over Europe.
We hosted, fed and entertained them for two weeks. After the course everyone was tired, but happy. Now I have 25 new friends all over europe waiting to return the favor. Can't wait to visit them all!
